Summary of Position:
This is an opportunity for a netball coach to join our athletics programme starting in August 2025. Beech Grove Senior School is a small Christian independent boarding school excelling in academic and co-curricular subjects and providing excellent pastoral care to the students. The school is rated as “Good” by Ofsted, with “Outstanding” boarding provision.
Your role is to deliver enthusiastic and structured netball sessions to 14-18 year old girls. As well as leading sessions, you must be committed to providing quality instruction and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that all students receive the best possible experience.
Key Aspects of the Role:
Plan and prepare high-quality coaching sessions where all students can develop their skills, be challenged and have fun.
Demonstrate the ability to develop and progress sessions for varying ages and abilities.
Show high levels of energy, enthusiasm and professionalism, acting as a suitable role model for the students.
Contribute to promoting and upholding the ethos and aims of the school, including strong work ethic and sportsmanship.
Develop, maintain, and prioritise excellent working relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
Actively develop and enhance your own subject knowledge, taking advantage of all opportunities to do so.
Use regular assessments to set targets for students, monitor progress and support gaps in their skills.
Essential Requirements:
Hold a minimum L1 coaching qualification (or equivalent) or have experience playing to a high level.
Evidence of being, or having the clear potential to be, an outstanding netball coach, with knowledge of all aspects of netball – technical, tactical and physical.
Having effective organisation and team management skills, creating a positive learning environment.
Experience of working with children.
Able to tailor delivery and structure of a session according to age and ability.
Genuine passion and belief in the potential of every student.

Desirable Requirements
Hold a First Aid qualification.
Terms and conditions
10 hrs/week of coaching (5x/week, 3-5 pm) from mid-August through December
You must attend all netball games (approx. 12 – 15)
The school has its own holiday pattern; half term and end of term holidays are only taken at Easter and Christmas.
The school year ends in the first week of June.
Summer holidays begin the second week of June until the end of August. Sports teams run sports camps and hold friendly games at the end of August.
Some additional holidays will be notified throughout the year.
